Guidelines for Abstract Submission
- The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-author(s) are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.
- The presenting author must be listed as the first author.
- Abstract previously presented or published will not be accepted.
- Multiple submissions are permitted; if selected only one oral presentation will be allowed.
- Your abstract is not successfully submitted until you receive a confirmation e-mail after clicking the final submit button. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact at summit2025.bhopal@gmail.com
- Only the standard abbreviations will be acceptable, uncommon abbreviation must be put in parenthesis the first time it appears in the text.
- Registration at the time of submission is not mandatory. However, once the abstract is accepted and informed the presenting author must register for the conference within 5 days at the registration fees prevailing at that date. If the author fails to register within that time frame, the abstract will not be considered for presentation.
- E-posters will be displayed on electronic screens. Please follow separate guidelines for e-poster.
- Awards will be given to junior consultant paper and e-poster.
- Deadline for abstract submission is 13th July(Sunday)
- Elimination round will be held on 25th July
- Final round date 27th July
- PG students need to upload “Bonafide Certificate” with the abstracts.
- Delegates interested in taking part in “Quiz” or “Video Award Session”, need to fill the appropriate form, scan and send it.
- All Scientific presentations competing for the Medals should contain only the presenter’s name on the first slide with no mention of the institution, place, and name of co-authors or HOD anywhere in the presentation.
- Various aspects like quality, content, relevance, timing and way of presentation will be considered during assessment. The judge can disqualify a presentation if the presenter does not adhere to the rules and timing.
- The judge's decision will be final and binding. The scientific committee has the sole discretion to review, decide and accept or reject the abstract for the presentation.
Specifications for E-Poster presentations:
- Title, Introduction, Objectives, Method, Result, Conclusion, Key words should be mentioned with the maximum word limit of 250 words for the abstract submission.
- Candidate should submit Power Point Presentation in 10 Slides (For Single Case Report) & 20 Slides (For Case Series).
- E-poster final presentation is to be sent according to the specifications provided. Uploading and changing of the PPT will not be allowed in the preview room.
- File format should be PowerPoint (.PPT/PPTX) and in landscape format.
- Total size of the presentation should not exceed 20 MB.
- Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported. Thus, requested to submit in a static PPT format only.
- The E-poster needs to be created as per format attached in the website link only.
- Each slide title should be placed in a title placeholder
- The text should include: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.
- It is suggested that font size of the text should be at least 32 point. The typeface chosen should be a simple and clear one.
- Illustrations/images/photographs used in the E-poster should be large enough to show relevant details clearly.
- Abstract should be formatted in MS Word; Times New Roman Font and Font size 12 Pt.
- A passport size photograph of the presenter should be included in the presentation.
Guidelines for Paper Presentation
- Abstract should not be more than 280 words.
- Abstract should be formatted in MS Word; Times New Roman Font and Font size 12 Pt.
- Abstract should be under the following Headings – Title, Presenting Author, Aim, Methodology, Results and Conclusions.
- The presenter will have to present the paper in person at the Laryngology Summit 2025.
- Papers should be based on original work of the presenter or from the member of the team.
- It is pertaining to diseases of Laryngology and must not have been published in any journal or any other publications.
- Please send by email, typewritten in double space with liberal margin, to conference secretariat.
- The presenter should not have any objection to the publication of the paper in The Journal of Laryngology and Voice in part or full at the discretion of the editorial Board.
- Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Junior Consultant Award Paper
- Age as on 01.01.2025 should be 40 years or less.
- Age proof to be furnished along with the abstract.
- The certificate of the year of passing post-graduation should be attached.
- This should be certified by either Head of the Department or Principal of the Medical College.
Senior Consultant Award Paper
- More than 40 years of age.
- Age proof to be furnished along with the Abstract.
- The certificate of the year of passing post-graduation should be attached.
Post Graduate Award Paper
- Bonafide Certificate from the HOD of the Dept. to be attached with the Abstract.
- This should be certified by either Head of the Department or Principal of the Medical College.
Laryngology Quiz
- Team of 2 Post graduate students has to be there.
- Registration for Laryngology Summit 2025 is compulsory.
- All PG students should enclose a Bonafide Certificate from their Head of the Department.
- Elimination round will be held on ______(Date) and Final round of the competition will be held in the Main Hall in front of the audience on _____ (Date)
Quiz Bee Rounds and Rules
- We have to set up last date to enroll for the Quiz bee, for ex: 31/10/2023.
- Due to this we will be knowing the no of contestant we have to cater. (As we need to arrange the stationary and place to accommodate all participants).
- We will arrange very first round which will be common for all the entries is “The Elimination Round”.
- The elimination round would be conducted in a hall with all the participants together answering (in writing) the question displayed on the screen. No. of question will be 15 and 30 sec or 1 minute each question.
- The team who will score more would be promoted for the main Quiz bee.
- In case of tie. The tied teams get into the extra question round. This round will have odd no. of questions. The team which answer more questions will be selected for the Quiz bee.
- For Quiz Bee we will finalize total 5 teams and these teams will play the Main quiz in Auditorium. The eliminated participants will be the part of audience.
- Apart from Dr. Firyal and Dr. Manjunath/Dr. Nilanjan, we would be having one expert (Senior Consultant) as a Chairperson.
- The quiz would be conducted in 5-6 rounds. Each round would be having questions based on:
- History of Laryngology
- Instruments and technology
- Clinical presentations
- Emergency scenarios
- Diagnostic Work up
- Voice / swallowing therapy
- Surgical procedures
- Time of 45 seconds would be allotted for each question.
- Rapid Fire round would be the last round. There are 2 ways to take this round:
- Single set of question would be asked to all team, whoever answer first would get the mark.
- Set of question would be asked to each team in a stipulated time, For ex : 5-7 question in 1 minute. They have to answer instantly without discussing with each other. If they don’t know they just pass the question.
- Time for answering each question is 10 sec
- Each right answer will carry 10 marks.
